In 1978 a team of 33 American Scientists went to Turin Italy with several tons worth of equipment. Their mission was to study The Shroud of Turin to see if they could find out how the image on the cloth was created.

Contrary to what many report only three members of that team of thirty-three were Christians.

Investigators for the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP) include:

Note: The researchers marked with an * participated directly in the 1978 Examination in Turin. All others are STURP research members who worked with the data or samples after the team returned to the United States.

They were joined by a fellow European team.

The information they gathered as been published in peer reviewed scientific journals.

This is not about religion. It is about science. The science of The Shroud of Turin is astounding.

In the years since 1978 much has been written about THE SHROUD.

About three years ago, after seeing an excellent and thought provoking BBC Documentary on it I ordered a full sized authorized replica of it. It hangs at The Cineforum.

There are a number of excellent films on the Shroud. I have them.

Names have meanings. Most of this is lost today. It is interesting to take a common name like “JOHN” and find out what its historical meaning is. That meaning is:

No person today can create this. No person 600 years ago could. No person 2,000 years ago could create this.

Shroud of Turin

Over

Ian Wilson is one of the best and most prolific writers on The Shroud Of Turin. From his book THE EVIDENCE FOR JESUS I learned that Jesus dropped his aitches when he spoke. How do we know this? Jesus came from Galilee. Galileans dropped their aitches (like English Cockneys). Jesus was dirt poor. Many who profess to love him would not give the historical Jesus five seconds of their time (especially academics).

Avinoam Danin did not become a Jew for Jesus nor a Christian as a result of his work with The Shroud Of Turin nor should he have. Much of what Christians believe is wrong.

I obtained my authorized replica of The Shroud Of Turin from Barrie Schwortz. Raised as an Othodox Jew Barrie became an agnostic at 13. His work on the Shroud changed that. Does that mean Barrie has become a Jew for Jesus or a Christian? No. Nor should he.
