“Someone ought to do it, but why should I? Someone ought to do it, so why not I? Between these two sentences lie whole centuries of moral evolution.”― Annie Besant.

John Wayne at the dawn of his motion picture career. He epitomizes youth.

John Wayne is often held up as an impossible standard.

The problem is impossible though that standard may be unless we are attempting the impossible we die.

“A man’s reach should exceed his grasp,” I said one Sunday in a church I was regularly attending.

“We won’t have that here!” said the entire congregation as one.

They rose in a body. I was shown the door.

I flagged a passing cab.

The driver said, “What happened there?”

I replied, “I said, ‘a man’s reach should exceed his grasp.’ I never got to. ‘or what’s a heaven for?’ They rose as one, shouted. ‘we won’t have that here!’ and showed me the door.”

Said the cab driver, “My God, they are all losers.”

In the winter of 2009 thousands of anonymous posters were put up all over Toronto declaring that a street person who passed out flyers on Queen Street West was a rat, a police informant:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=an6wuSoPjlc   .

The man who posted those flyers says he’s a Jehovah’s Witness, a Christian.

That does not change the fact that he’s a gutless coward.

How can I say that?

Simple.

Anyone who publishes anonymous slanders is a gutless coward.

Jesse James, whatever else he may have been, was not a gutless coward.

But the man who shot Jesse James in the back, well, that is a different story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGHiew5fDZA  .

I don’t call myself a Christian.

According to THE NEW TESTAMENT the first followers of Jesus did not call themselves Christians either.

In fact the word was first used as an insult (Acts 11:26).

I knew Terry Ross. He had given me every reason not to give a damn about him.

There was, however, one reason why I had to give a damn.

That reason is found in The Gospel of Matthew. It is called THE LAST JUDGMENT: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2025%3A31-46&version=ESV .

For those of you not familiar with it here it is:

The Final Judgment

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

If that translation is not to your taste pick another: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2025%3A31-46&version=ESV .

There I have it if you don’t and that hypocrite who says he’s a Christian who posted those thousands of poisonous flyers clearly doesn’t, my problem was that Terry was Jesus.

So I bought a camera, filmed that murderous display, posted it on the web and contacted a ton of folks who think highly of themselves but said. “There is nothing I can do.”

Then one woman in the mayor’s office said she would act. She did.

Terry said, “You saved my life.”

He died of cancer last year.

Terry was not the only person smeared by this coward.

What’s the coward’s name?

His name is Legion.

John Wayne at his best played a man who stood up against those who wore fine clothes while they stepped on the backs of those who could barely afford the clothes they wore.

For decades the snake who sunk his poison into Terry has been sinking his poison into me.

This is fine by me. One of the signs we are on the right path is that deadly serpents (that means liars and murderers) will do their best to harm us.

They can’t though they will try.

When John Wayne walked on stage for the last time at The Academy Awards in 1979 we saw a man who epitomized in his person the best we can be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og8pywu8gbU  .

It may not be fashionable to praise John Wayne now but then it never has been fashionable than to try always to drag down the best.

John Wayne was and always will be the best.

Kudos to his legacy.

In Jesus’ parable of THE BANDIT’S VICTIM (more commonly known as The Parable of The Good Samaritan) it is not generally known that the Samaritan, the man who helped, was viewed with contempt by those who passed by and did nothing.

It is also not known by most that those shepherds in the hills to whom the angels announced the birth of Jesus were viewed with contempt because their work kept them from going to church.

John Wayne is right. Going to church no more makes a man a good person than going into a stable makes him a horse though who park their butts in church are horses’ asses.

Terry Ross was the bandit’s victim. Like the Samaritan I am viewed with contempt by the coward who did his best to destroy him, who continues to do his best to destroy me.

Let him.

Just helps show what I’m made of.

As for the person behind this, I have the documents where he is named as the police informant, the rat.

JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES claim The Old Testament Laws are in force for Christians.

Of those laws Peter said, “Why burden them with that which neither we nor the fathers could bear?”

It is vanity to imagine we can bear what Peter and the fathers could not.–Reg Hartt

John Wayne epitomized the best we can be.

This is why we turn the other cheek.

The latest from the viper. This flyer is designed to look like it was created by its target. The text varies. It is designed the get the subject lynched. I have ignored and continue to ignore this. Unable to provoke a reaction one has been manufactured.
