The Last Man on Earth
In 1964, Vincent Price starred as Dr. Robert Morgan (rather than “Neville”) in The Last Man on Earth (the original title of this Italian production was L’ultimo uomo della Terra). Matheson wrote the original screenplay for this adaptation, but due to later rewrites did not wish his name to appear in the credits; as a result, Matheson is credited under the pseudonym “Logan Swanson”.[23]

“3D is different than 2D. Your mind works differently. You cannot compare the two. One (3D) is sophisticated and the other (2D) is like a baby.”–Ang Lee.

This 3D conversion of THE LAST MAN ON EARTH is superb.
The question is, “Does 3D make the film better?”
In my view the answer is yes, very much so.
There was a time when a 2D to 3D conversion of this calibre cost a fortune and required a huge crew.
That day is now history.
Oscar Hammerstein III said, “Being knowing and blasé is really the sign of a very unsophisticated person. The most sophisticated thing one person can say to another is, ‘I know nothing about that. Please tell me more.”
Sophisticated people are always in the minority. There is no shortage of the knowing and blasé.
