Someone in City Councillor Dianne Saxe’s office actually returned my phone call today.

The issue I want her to listen to involves criminal harassment not only to myself and others (including former Councillor Adam Vaughan and former Mayor Rob Ford) but also ex-employees of the harasser and others.

I explained to the person I spoke with that this is a very serious matter.

I informed him THE GLOBE AND MAIL had done a story on it.

All of this was beyond his attention span it seems because he complained this was taking to long.

I agree it is taking too long.

This began over 24 years ago.

It requires more than a few seconds to tell it.

At that point my feelings of immense frustration reached the boiling point.

He used that as his excuse to hang up.

Well, I was surprised to get the call in the first place.

I am not surprised he hung up.

The authorities in this city hung up on most of us a long time ago.

I spoke about all this with Dianne Saxe when she came by here years ago.

She did nothing then.

Not shocked to see her do nothing now.

We have a right to be righteously angry with everyone who chooses to cross the road rather than deal with the man beaten by bandits.

In that parable told by Jesus of Nazareth (I don’t give a hoot whether he was God or God’s son because everything he said makes sense to me) the man who did help was viewed as scum by those who did not.

Some see me as scum.

More see me as someone who helps.–Reg Hartt
