Years ago I had a wonderful fog who was born in my home./ He was a Shepherd/Collie mix.

His oesophagus became lax. He could not swallow his food.

My vet said nothing could be done and I should put him down but if I wanted a second opinion I could take him to the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph.

He was there a month.

“No dog in this country has survived with what he has,” I was told.

I asked, “What about outside the country?”

I was told, “Two in The United States did.”

I replied, “Then one in Canada will.”

It was a long, hard haul.

My dog had lost so much weight he was literally skin and bones.

When I walked him people screamed at me, “Feed your dog.”

When I told them what had happened they did not listen. They only shouted, “FEED  your dog!”

After six months my dog regained his weight. He looked wonderful.

One day he looked me in the eye while in my mind I heard a voice say, “I’m okay now. Thank you.”

“Are you?” I thought.

He was.

One in Canada had survived with what he had.

What worked the miracle?

Faith. Hope. Love,

Faith through knowledge that two in The United States had survived gave me the hope that one in Canada would. Love carried me through the enormous trial ahead.
