Money From Home 3-D (Blu-ray)
Brand New HD Master from a 4K Restoration by Paramount Pictures and 3-D Film Archive! Restored from the 35mm Dynoptic 3-D Technicolor Camera Negatives!
Available in 3-D for the first time on home video, Money From Home is a hilarious laugh-a-minute comedy starring the legendary team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis (Artists and Models). When Honey Talk Nelson’s (Martin) gambling debts start to mount, he enlists his veterinarian cousin Virgil (Lewis) to help him fix a race. Along the way, the boys find plenty of time for gags, music, and for “Honey Talk,” a romance with the gorgeous Phyllis (Marjie Millar). Features their now classic take on Cyrano de Bergerac! Money From Home is presented in both stereoscopic and anaglyphic 3-D formats as well as standard 2-D.
It also marks the end of a long and tortuous odyssey by 3D Film Archive Founder and friend of Jerry Lewis, Robert Furmanek to see this picture preserved and restored.
I have been a supporter of his work from the get go.
I remember when the Jerry Lewis–Dean Martin films were first offered on Blu-ray. Furmanek asked for support to get this picture out on 3D Blu-ray. I gave support. It fell on deaf ears.
Thankfully, not all ears are deaf.
MONEY FROM HOME has been given an all stops out restoration that shows in every on screen frame.
The use of 3D is never gimmicky while continually adding to the picture without drawing attention to itself. Some moments are jaw dropping in their beauty.
Paramount and Universal have boldly stepped where Warner Home Archive seems to fear to tread.
The entire Universal 1950s 3D archive excepting a Nat King Cole short is now available. When FLIGHT TO TANGIER (1954) gets on the 3D Film Archive table their entire archive will be preserved, restored and ready for tomorrow.
Whatever powers are in charge at Warner Archive I do wish they’d pick up the phone, call the 3D Film Archive and say, “Let’s get these pictures before the public where they belong.” Ditto Sony with the Columbia titles.
C’mon guys.
The James L. Neibaur and Mike Ballew commentary added immensely to my appreciation of this picture.
Paramount, Kino Lorber and The 3D Film Archive not only hit a home run with MONEY FROM HOME they knocked the ball out of the park.
The bar has been raised for motion picture restoration immensely.
It shows dramatically what love can do.
The biggest factor appears to be the love Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis inspired in all who worked on this inspired restoration.–Reg Hartt 2026–08–29.
