THE CHARGE AT FEATHER RIVER (1953) is Warner Brother’s follow-up to its 3D hit, THE HOUSE OF WAX.

It is not available in a restored 3D Blu-ray.

I had given up on anything less than a miracle making it possible for me to experience it in 3D.

Well, the miracle happened.

A friend sifted through I don’t know how many digital 2D copies of the picture looking for Left and Right sides. That definitely is searching for a needle in a hay stack. The search paid off. Incredible.

The main titles are flat in 2D. This is to make it easier for the projectionist to get it in focus. The effect when the movie suddenly shifts into true 3D was jaw dropping for me.

Filmed in NaturalVision every frame is an ad for the process.

Throughout the picture depth is highlighted constantly.

This hammers home the 3D excitement for my eyes.

With part of the picture shot in the Vasquez Rocks ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasquez_Rocks ) I got a special treat.

No big stars.

The BIG STAR is the NATURALVISION 3D PROCESS.

True 3D is a blessing to our eyes. We see in 3D not 2D (unless we have only one eye). True 3D prevents the eye fatigue 2D film making carries with it.

The MAX STEINER score augments this picture terrifically.

Jack Warner was full of faith for 3D when this film was put in the can. It shows. This picture really sells the process.

It is a picture Warner Archive can justly feel proud of.

That pride should manifest in a Blu-ray 3D Restoration.

It is in the REG HARTT ARCHIVE. If you’re in Toronto and would like to experience it yourself drop by.

If you’re not in Toronto work to bring me where you are.

I’m the outlaw of the Canadian Motion Picture Community which has to be fine by me as there is nothing I can do about it except accept it.

We owe far more to Outlaws than we do the good folks who try to kill them.

Get in touch. The more original we are the less likely we are to fit in. https://www.ranker.com/list/famous-male-orators/reference .

This picture is an exuberant orgy of off screen effects.
