You will look in vain to find a more appropriate place in the world to honour Steven Leckie than The CineForum/The Public Enemy situated in my Toronto home.

There is not one.
As artists we all have to bear “The proud man’s cantu, the pangs of despised love, the law’s delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns that patient merit of the unworthy takes. “
I don’t post these accolades to boast.
I post them to piss off the folks we all have to endure.
Shortly before he passed Al Aronowitz called to ask if he could do another program at The CineForum. He said, “It’s my favourite place to present my work.” Considering Al’s history that is a compliment impossible to Topp.
To have the listener tingle is what poetry is all about.
Posting something like means the expectations of those who come here must be Topped.

Encouraging the kids starting out was Steven Leckie’s passion. WIZTHEMC was so new he was still in thew womb when he emailed Reg Hartt after a chance encounter, “I’m homeless. You got room for me?” I said, “Sure.” He said, “I want to be a rapper.” I said, “Start rapping.”

“In Toronto, I discovered by chance, CineForum. Pure chance but a fortunate one. In that small room exhaling culture, passion and dedication, I watched the movie TRIUMPH OF THE WILL, an important historical, political and social document., and real artistic achievement….As a journalist (in Romania) I worked in the cultural field, including film reviews. Therefore I came to the CineForum not just as a movie lover, but as a knowledgeable professional…We live in an era authoritatively dominated by brainwashing and political correctness…I admired Reg Hartt’s courage and passion put in searching out and defending the human truth, the artistic truth, the historical truth; the Truth and unveiling it…Discovering Reg Hartt and his CineForum was one of the most important events of my visit in Toronto.”– JULIA SCUTARU, retired journalist, Bucharest, Romania, 2000.

Topp that!.
