Marc Sleep entered my life when I stopped by a restaurant I had been invited to by a waitress.

Marc was from Australia. He was staying in the hostel next door. I said, “I have room for you.”

GOOCH walked by the house one hot summer day while I was having a beer with a friend. He set the huge bag he was carrying on the corner of the fence. I said, “You look like you need water,” He said, “I’m from up north. I do. This heat is killing me.” I said, “Go in and get glass of water.” He said, “I can’t. That is your home.” I said, “You can. This is my home.” He stayed for three months. Left this art.

He’d been drinking as only an Australian can drink.

He later told me that after I left he had asked the waitress what kind of man would invite someone like him to live him. Marc said she replied, “He’s a good one. Take him up on it.”

Marc got a job cooking at THE CN TOWER, One day he said to me, “I have cooked for Princess Di. I have cooked for Tom Jones. All I can cook in this town is hamburgers and pizzas. I have to cook.” “Look at this,” I said as I showed him my copy of THE SALVADOR DALI COOKBOOK.

I said, “Look at this,” and showed him my copy

The Fool, with a surface value of zero, is the highest valued card in the Tarot. Everry manm eho trusts himself is a fool in the eyes of this world.

When a sage of the highest order hears about the way he is quick to accept it. When a sage of the middle order hears about the way he half belives, half doubts. When a sage of th lowest orderhears about the way he says, “That’s insane.” If he does not say, “That’s insane it is not yet the true way.”–Lao Tze, THE WAY OF THE TAO.

“Men won’t read science fiction written by women,” Judith Merril (above) was told when young. Lots of women were told that. Those women used male pen names. Judy said, “That is not true.” She revolutionized the genre. Said J. G. Ballard, “Judith Merril was the strongest woman in a genre created by weak and inefectual men.” Yes, she was. Yes, they were and are (with very few exceptions).
