Image Entertainment was the first to offer Charlie Chaplin’s motion pictures on DVD.

The thing about these releases is that they are copies of the pictures as they were first seen not as Chaplin re-edited them for later release.

I wanted to see them as they were first seen. Those discs are now out of print. Copies on Amazon and ebay are expensive.

After ordering them (I got THE KID (1921) and THE CIRCUS (1928) on Ebay for fair prices. The fellow who had THE FIRST NATIONAL SHORTS offered them at $18. My order was cancelled. The price was raised to $240.00.

AMAZON offers it for $137.00.

Yesterday I hit the DVD button next to each title on the EDNAPURVIANCE page (Edna was Chaplin’s leading lady from 1915 to 1920) and found the title listed on Amazon for $38.29.

Keep yourself from being gouged. Use the EDNAPURVIANCE page.–Reg Hartt
