Gus says, “I want to marry you.” Flora says, “No.” A woman’s right to choose is the issue. Everything else people bring into this is not. For a man without all his life until just moments ago the right to say, “No” it is no mystery to me for him not to understand what for so long was denied him. Had he simply let her go, which all must do, when told, “No” is for many even now an impossibility. This is not helped by the fact our education system was designed to keep people in the child state. For those who disagree I say, “Read John Taylor Gatto.” It is one thing to say the Negro was kept in a child state and other to realize all are being kept in a child state.

When Gus, the newly freed slave who has been told he has the right to ask any woman he choose to marry him (which is true) what is also true (which he has not been told and does not understand) is that she has the right to say, “No.”

Skin shade, race (a false concept given sustained life by those who refuse to stop using it) is not the issue.

The issue is the right to say, “No” and to have that “NO” respected.

Everything else is absolute bullshit.
